How to pray

Prayer is one of the most important but the most overlooked of all the spiritual disciplines. Here are just four easy but eye-opening ways to improve your prayer life using the A.C.T.S. method.

Adoration Tell God how much you adore him. An example may be, “God, I love you, I praise you for being holy, I come before you in humility, and I surrender every part of my life to you.”

Confession tells God where you have sinned and need forgiveness. An example may be, “God, I am deeply sorry for the thing I said to that person, the thought that came into my mind” 1 John 1:9 “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”

Thanksgiving Let go know how thankful you are for him. An example may be, “God, I thank you for giving me life each day, I thank you for Salvation, I thank you for creating me for a purpose.” Psalms 118:1 “Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, his love endures forever.”

Supplication Philippians 4:6 “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer in supplication with thanksgiving let your request be made known to God.” We worship a BIG God. Because we serve a big God we ought to pray for big things. I am NOT talking about praying for a big TV but, for opportunities to share the gospel with somebody, to be a part of the life-changing moments in other people’s lives, to motivate others to be heavenly minded so that we might impact the world for Christ.

In Conclusion Matthew 6 Jesus shows us how to pray but this method makes it a little easier but focuses on God’s will and not ours.
