Every Friday, over the next few weeks, I will give you something encouraging or food for thought to have something to think about over the weekend.

Today’s encouraging word! Hebrews 13:8 “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.”

Dig Deeper! Growing up, the trinity was very difficult to understand and still is today. First we must understand God the father, God the son, and God the Holy Spirit are one. Each one of you reading this today has a beginning and each one of us has a end to our life. God has no beginning and no end. A lot of us especially, if you live in the U.S. celebrate Christmas because it is the day we celebrate Jesus’s “birthday” but, that is the day we celebrate Jesus coming to earth. Jesus was before the foundation of the world. Jesus is at the right hand of the father. Jesus is to come and is waiting to take those who believe in him to heaven to live with him forevor.

Apply it! Understanding the trinity a little better helps us to trust God better. God knows each of our life’s from start to finish. God knows when you are going to fall, God knows when you are going to laugh and God knows when you are going to cry. When we are at a low point we often ask, God what is the purpose of all this pain? Why can’t you show me the big picture. God does’nt always show us the big picture. The Bible talks about God lights up our next steps. But, knowing that God has always been and will always be, reassures us that God will never leave us nor forsake those who are called according to his plan.

Prayer! Father, I thank you for creating me and giving me life. Forgive me for not always trusting in your plan. I understand I will not always know the big picture but, please light up my next step. Help me to trust you more,

Amen.
